Lean Product Development Kick Start Visit
A Kick Start Visit prepares lean product development leaders to drive the changes that will deliver strong results in product development.
A Lean Product Development Kick Start Visit will give you an independent, expert analysis of your organization's current needs and driving forces behind your work to improve product development performance. You will receive specific recommendations about the alternatives that are most likely to deliver the performance improvements that you need.
A kick start visit can help you understand which lean product development path is right for you:
- If lean product development will work for you, Katherine's observations and recommendations will help you develop an implementation strategy and set realistic goals.
- If the conditions are not yet right for success with lean product development, Katherine will explain the actions that will clear away the barriers so that your lean product development program will succeed.
- If you have low-hanging fruit to pick before diving into a full-scale lean product development implementation, she will make recommendations about where to focus first.
Katherine Radeka is the only lean product development consultant who has the experience and flexibility to help you tailor lean product development to meet your needs. Unlike many other consultants who expect you to confirm to rigid models, she helps you make lean product development work for you.
The Kick Start Visit Includes:
- Pre-visit assistance with identifying interviewees, arranging Non-Disclosure Agreements, scheduling and communication to the interview participants.
- One to two day site visit, including:
- Kick-off session to explain lean product development and the assessment process to the members of your team.
- A series of confidential 1:1 or group interviews with members of your development staff, following a structured interviewing process.
- Summary of findings and recommendations presented informally to your product development leadership team.
- Katherine conducts all interviews and sessions personally.
- 100% of the fee is creditable against the next engagement if you agree to a consulting project within 60 days of the assessment visit.
Sponsorship Requirements:
Lean Product Development Kick Start Visits require direct sponsorship from a Vice President with direct responsibility for product development performance, or a comparable executive-level sponsor.
The sponsor must agree to:
- Personally approve our letter of agreement, which includes the terms and conditions for the visit, including confidentiality for the interviewees.
- Designate a representative who will work with Katherine to put together the interview schedule and agenda for the visit.
- Participate in a phone interview ahead of the visit with a follow-up interview while on site.
- Participate in a private debriefing session at the end of the 2nd day to learn my recommendations.
What If I Don't Have a Sponsor?
In Katherine's experience, a Kick Start Visit that does not have this level of support will not generate the results that you need. Here are three alternatives:
- If you need assistance with building sponsorship at the appropriate level to conduct a Kick Start Visit, please see the LPD Champions Mentor Program.
- If you want to build awareness about lean product development within your organization, you can sponsor a private workshop. Call or email for details.
- If you want to build your own understanding of lean product development, consider taking one of our web classes.
The "Waste Free" Guarantee:
Our refund policy is as lean as it gets: if any of our products or services don't meet your expectations, we will refund your money.
